About SWIB

Scottish Women in Business (SWIB) was established in 1992. It is the leading networking club for women professionals and entrepreneurial decision-makers working in and around Glasgow.

Originally called the West of Scotland Businesswomen's Club, it was shortened a few years ago to SWIB.  From its inception it has assisted women in business in all sectors - from early development to established businesses, welcoming both employers and employees:

  • For professional women members, SWIB provides the opportunity to network with other professionals and to share ideas, as well as keeping up to date with developments in their local environment.
  • For entrepreneurs, SWIB offers contacts and the opportunity to gain new business, to interact with like-minded individuals, collect new marketing strategies and ideas.
  • For all its members, SWIB offers enables them to hear inspiring speakers, to develop their skills, to share ideas and find support, as well as somewhere to make new friends.

SWIB is part of the Association of Scottish Businesswomen (ASB) which offers additional benefits for members, such as  access to networking, knowledge-sharing and mentoring opportunities across Scotland. Every year the Association of Scottish Businesswomen holds an annual conference, an awards ceremony and a work/life balance weekend, all of which SWIB members can access.
