Scottish Women in Business offers many benefits to businesses, large and small, no matter what their business is. The network is supportive, educational, inspiring, friendly and fun! Many members have found friends as well as finding customers, suppliers, business partners and associates through coming along to our events.
Here's what some of our members say about why they joined SWIB:

Mairi Morrison, Business Development Manager, Sense Scotland Sense Scotland is a national charity which works with children and adults who have communication support needs because of deafblindness, sensory impairment, learning or physical disabilities. As Business Development Manager, I am responsible for developing new and existing social enterprise including the café, business and conference centre in TouchBase, Sense Scotland’s new day resource centre in Glasgow. I have been a member of SWIB for some four years now. Members are keen to get to know one another, share knowledge and resources and if possible put business your way. The meetings are friendly and welcoming with stimulating and inspiring guest speakers. Whether you are in business for yourself or work for a company, SWIB is a great network of like minded women who want to succeed in their chosen career. |

Jill MacRae, Director Blether Media My first encounter with SWIB was as a guest at one of their networking lunches in April 2009. I was brand new to networking and had no idea what to expect. What I found was an incredibly welcoming group of women, all genuinely interested in hearing about each others’ businesses. The range of skills and experience amongst the membership is diverse and there is a real willingness to help each other out. Having attended quite a number of other networking events since then I have yet to find any that match the warmth and friendliness of SWIB. More importantly I have also not found any that have been as good for my business. Blether Media provides training and consultancy in how to use social media for business – blogging, Twitter, Facebook etc – and several SWIB members have already attended courses and become great ambassadors for me! |

Catherine Feechan, Partner, Biggart Baillie LLP Biggart Baillie LLP is a large legal firm with 40 Partners and over 200 staff. I am a Corporate Partner advising a wide range of clients, both large and small, on all legal issues that affect businesses as they move through the growth cycle from start up to listing or trade sale. SWIB is a network of women who want to succeed in their chosen fields and the members do their best to assist each other on that journey. I joined SWIB because I am keen to expand my network of contacts and to try and do more work with women in business and I find it very enjoyable. The events are fun and very friendly and the speakers are excellent and cover a wide variety of topics. The members are keen to share their experiences and to help each other do business where possible. |
