La Bonne Auberge, Glasgow

May 8, 6:30pm-9:00pm

Aileen Neilson led Team GB's curlers in the Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics and won Bronze in the Sochi games. She is also the first female to skip a wheelchair curling team in either Paralympics or World Championships. We were honoured to hear her speaking at our May dinner about the challenges and struggles she has faced in life and in sport, how she has tackled those and how she has developed and embraces a growth mindset

Feedback from attendees included:

I thought Aileen was an excellent Speaker and the comments round the table thought likewise and one of our members said the reason she came to our events was the quality of our Speakers. Absolutely loved the food. Well done all involved.

We haven't had an inspirational speaker for a while and Aileen was certainly inspirational. Her talk stimulated a good discussion round the table too. Excellent venue, very good food. A successful event.

Really enjoyed my first SWIB event!

Best event yet

La Bonne Auberge always provides an excellent meal and lovely surroundings, with good networking space, and this was no exception. For a change, I tried the vegetarian option and it was delicious. The speaker was excellent, genuinely inspiring. I loved hearing about her approach to dealing with failure.

It was great to see a lot of new faces there. Speaker was lovely. Food was fab and the staff were very attentive, especially when it came to making sure my dietary needs were met.

As friendly and welcoming as usual.

Excellent venue - easy to communicate and hear!, food, and speaker also great - overall a great event.

Venue and meal were excellent, plenty of space for networking. Really inspiring speaker led to some excellent conversations. One from my table has emailed to say she felt our table could have continued discussions all evening and she got a huge amount from the event.
