West Highland Way Obelisk, Glasgow

As the days lengthen, and Spring turns to summer, what better way to spend Saturday morning but on a stroll out of town?
We met at the start of the West Highland Way, Douglas Street in Milngavie, and followed the route which took in beautiful Scottish countryside, some amazing views and wildlife, passing Dumgoyne until we reached the Beech Tree Inn for lunch.

Really enjoyed the walk. It's a beautiful route, not too difficult, and with added 'local interest' stories... Would definitely like to do this one again.
Thank goodness the weather stayed fair for the duration for the walk. ... a non-threatening introduction to a new network. More country walks could be planned in the future.
