If you are a manager or business owner, the chances are you will have had to deal with some kind of conflict between staff members. How did you deal with this, and do you know your responsibilities and liabilities within Employment Law? Or can you see a situation developing in your workplace, and you’re unsure of how to handle it?

Conflict Management is a vital skill that involves handling confrontations tactfully and constructively. Many people are not prepared for conflict, or confident about how to deal with it when occurs. Our trainer, Natalie O’Hare, Client Resourcing Consultant at Personnel and Training Services Ltd, will help you to discover your conflict style and look at how these styles can be used in day to day situations.

There are many different types of Conflict Management, such as preventative measures involving workplace, job role or department changes. If these are unsuccessful, there is the option of an external dispute resolution such as Mediation. There are a number of benefits to using Mediation – it’s quick, it gets people talking, it gives creative solutions and it works. But what exactly is Mediation, and how do you know when you need it?

Natalie O’Hare is on the Scottish Mediator Register and has been a Workplace Mediator since 2016, dealing with disputes in SMEs and larger organisations in the public and private sectors. She is a keen enthusiast to see results and improve workplace relationships between peers, teams and individuals. Mediation complements her existing HR and Employment Law skills. She has 13 years experience in roles such as Head of HR and HR & Employment Law Consultant in many industries and businesses across Scotland. She currently works for Personnel & Training Services Ltd, setting up and running their Scottish branch based here in Glasgow.
