Meet at Kelvinbridge Subway, Glasgow

June 2, 4:00pm-5:30pm

Please join us for our "Inspiring Women" guided walk, taking in some of the locations where historically "inspiring women" have worked or lived. Names such as Helen Crawfurd, Marion Gilchrist and "Big Rachel" may not be familiar to you...but their compelling stories will be told as we walk.

This will be followed by an optional social at Curlers, Byres Road from about 5.30pm. If you can't make the walk, you're still welcome to join the social - you don't need to pay but it's helpful if you let us know you are coming!.

We'll meet at Kelvinbridge Subway for a 4pm start and walk a route that is largely away from traffic for about 90 minutes, finishing up at Curlers on Byres Road (and next to Hillhead Subway).

On a practical front, wear comfortable footwear - we'll stick to footpaths. Keep an eye on the weather forecast so that you know whether to wear shades and sun-cream!

Dogs are welcome on the walk & social by arrangement.

All proceeds from the stroll & social will be donated to Dress for Success, our Charity of the Year.

Elsa Reid led a really engaging walk on a beautiful Friday afternoon, pointing out features and buildings of interest along the way which had a relevance to notable women of Glasgow (sadly, no statues celebrating women on this walk) The walkers finished their stroll with a well-earned stop at The Curlers where the engaging conversations continued.
