September 2, 9:45am-2:00pm

Join our first ever swib social cycle along the Clyde and Loch Lomond Cycleway, a total of 20 miles along a well established, waymarked route from the city centre to Balloch on the south shores of Loch Lomond. Running from the heart of Glasgow to the beauty of Loch Lomond, this almost entirely traffic-free route follows parts of the disused Partick to Yoker railway from Glasgow to Clydebank, the towpath of the Forth and Clyde Canal through to Bowling and again an old railway into Dumbarton.

For those who wish, there will also be the option to have a drink or bite to eat in Balloch at the end of the cycle. The return journey to Glasgow can be made by train which runs every 30 minutes (cost not included).

Whilst this is regarded as an easy cycling route, and we shall be riding at a relaxed pace, it does entail a few hours in the saddle so please judge your own ability (however, as the route is linear and frequently near railway stations there is always the option to shorten your route if you feel the need!). You are expected to bring your own bike (and any repair/puncture kit) which should be in good working order. Be weather-wise and bring appropriate clothing, sun screen, water etc!

For more information on the route please see Sustrans website. If you have any questions please contact us via admin@scottishwomeninbusiness.org.uk

We shall meet by the River Clyde outside the Crowne Plaza at 9.45am for a 10am departure.

All proceeds from this event will go to our Charity of the Year, Playlist for Life.

The booking deadline is 5pm, Thursday 30th August.
