SWIB Awards 2019 - the winners!
Nearly 200 women attended our Scottish Women in Business Awards 2019, held on May 19th at The Principal Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow.
Hosted with insight and humour by Jane McCarry of Still Game, with fizz to accompany a delicious afternoon tea, it was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. There was great support for all the finalists as their names were read out, and then we celebrated with the winners!
Three awards were presented which recognise those women who are outstanding exampes of swib's core values: communicate, connect, collaborate:
Communicator: Jackie Lee of Artemis Scotland
Connector: Cor Hutton of Finding Your Feet
Collaborator: Elaine Sergeant of Glasgow Care Foundation
Two awards were made for special categories:
Innovator: Marian Bruce of Highland Boundary Ltd
Young Star: Nikola Kelly of Be-IT
A public vote was held to identify the winner of the Spotlight Award, a woman in the spotlight, born in Scotland or living and working in Scotland - someone whose contribution is noteworthy and inspirational.
Spotlight Award: Remzije Sherifi of Maryhill Integration
Finally, the Spirit of SWIB award was made to the swib member who has demonstrated the attributes of communicating, connecting and collaboration:
Spirit of SWIB: Heather Alexander
Thank you to our headline sponsor, Turcan Connell, and our award category sponsors: The Herald (Communicator), Federation of Small Businesses (Connector), Murphy Wealth (Collaborator), Arrow Corporate Promotions (Innovator) and Turcan Connell (Young Star).
Finally, a massive "Thank You" to all who entered, all who attended and especially to all those who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the event possible.
