Scottish Women in Business (SWIB) is Scotland’s leading network for women who want to connect, grow, and lead with purpose. For over 30 years, we’ve brought together women from every sector, founders, freelancers, corporates, charities, and public-sector leaders, creating a welcoming community built on support, collaboration, and genuine connection.

Our work matters because women still face persistent barriers. Across the UK, women now represent one in three entrepreneurs, contributing over £250 billion annually to the economy, yet women?led employer firms have fallen to 14%, a decrease of about 70,000 businesses. In Scotland, women make up 54% of all start?ups, but 61% don’t progress beyond the early stage and 68% report gender?based discrimination in business. This is why SWIB exists, to close these gaps through community, visibility, opportunity, and collective strength.
Any woman in Scotland is welcome to join our community. While membership is for women, we warmly welcome strong male allies at our events and partners who champion equity and help create a fairer business landscape for everyone.
