Charity of the year

 

 

 

Each year, Scottish Women in Business adopts a charity, and selected by our President in consultation with committee members. 

The money, support and awareness provided by swib makes a big difference to help the chosen charity. At each event, a donation of £1 per attendee is added to the amount that swib pays to the charity at the end of the year, but there are many more ways to help! Here’s a round-up of all the ways in which we raise the money for our Charity of the Year. If you have any ideas on how swib can raise even more, please let us know using our contact form.

Charity 2026-27

swib‘s charity of the year for 2025-2026 is Calums Cabins

Calums Cabin provide holiday homes for families affected by childhood cancer. Our beautiful accommodation enables breaks away where the whole family can spend quality time making irreplaceable memories and recharging their batteries for what may lie ahead. We provide holiday facilities in stunning surroundings on the Isle of Bute, Ayrshire, Anstruther, and Aviemore. Our accommodation also includes twelve flats in Glasgow close to cancer treatment centres which allow families from across the country to stay together in welcoming, home-from-home surroundings during extended periods of treatment.

We also offer weekly mindfulness sessions to support parents and family members. All of this is possible thanks to the incredible levels of support we continue to receive from so many individuals, groups and organizations who have taken Calum’s Cabin into their hearts, enabling us to make life a little bit easier for families in the most challenging of times.
