Committee Nominations

The committee is made up of twelve committee members of which we currently we have eleven including 1 co-opted member.

Co-opted members must nominate themselves for election at the AGM to continue on the committee. We have a further four members who have come to the end of their initial three year term on committee so also must nominate themselves for re-election to continue on the committee.

This, along with one further member who has chosen to stand down, means that we now have seven committee spaces available for election.

If you would like to nominate yourself to stand for election, please email

president@scottishwomeninbusiness.org.uk by 5pm on Monday 14th September. We would particularly like to hear from someone with a financial background.

Hunterston Castle and Clan Hunter

We received this amazing story from SWIB Member Pauline Hunterston

'My first introduction to the Glasgow SWIB, following a search on the internet and a phone call was to a training event, where I was invited to ‘Just turn up’. What a great welcome I received by the committee, so much so that I joined up straight away. Since then at every event I have been to I have been met with a warm welcome and feeling of inclusivity. It has been a revelation to meet with professional women from so many different fields, it has been enlightening and informative.

During my membership of nearly three years, I have met any number of diverse career and entrepreneurial women who have been supportive and helpful made some truly valuable connections. I have met two coaches, Julie Cullen and Sylvia Baldock, both of whom have helped me to develop my role and skill set as Chief of Clan Hunter, and to be brave enough to go for my vision for the future of Hunterston Castle and Clan Hunter. I was introduced to Heather Alexander who sorted out the brief I needed to get quotes for my new website, this led to appointing Shona McIver of Llocofoco Design for the design of our new branding then appointing Gill Wilson of Buttered Host who is now putting Shona’s ideas into the build of our new website.

Although I had sought several people to undertake the work the members of SWIB came out way ahead with their ideas and commitment. All of them are a pleasure to work with and we will continue to work with them going forward as we apply for Charitable status for preserving Hunterston Castle for my worldwide membership.

If you are thinking of starting out in business or managing your career, looking for training and help with all aspects of your life and career join SWIB.'

The website goes live on the 11th September and we can't wait to share this on the day!
