Cowcaddens Subway, Glasgow
April 27, 10:00am-1:00pm
We resumed our Saturday Strolls with a leisurely amble along the Forth & Clyde canal.
Despite a damp start, blue sky and warm sunshine accompanied us for most of this delightful stroll along the Forth Clyde canal from Cowcaddens subway. There was plenty of wildlife including nesting swans, grey heron and moorhen.
A welcome stop at Lambhill Stables provided more than a refreshment stop, taking time to admire the open views over to Dumgoyne/ Campsie Fells and the impressive community gardens bound by willow fences.
A change of plan allowed us to continue walking along the canal to Lock 27 at Temple/Anniesland with easy transport links to take us back home!
Feedback from those who strolled included:
It was a great stroll and lovely see beautiful parts of Glasgow that I didn't even know existed!
Despite small numbers, the walk took us to a part of Glasgow that I did not know. Plenty to see and to discuss. A really good, unconfrontational approach to networking. Lambhill Stables was a great place to stop. Again unknown to me, we were warmly welcomed and now have my discount card for future trips! added bonus was that it turned into a beautiful day.
An informal introduction to SWIB and a great way to get to know the other participants. A return to Lambhill Stables is a must.
