We will host this panel event in the RBS Building on Queens Street, where you will be treated to drinks and nibbles.

Carla Buchanan is Local Enterprise Manager for the Royal Bank of Scotland, covering Glasgow and the West of Scotland. Carla has over 20 years’ experience in banking and having spent the majority of this working within Private Banking space she truly understands the value of building strong, lasting relationships. Carla now works closely within the business marketplace to help support, develop and add value to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and by utilising the support offered internally within the bank and also by engaging with external enterprise partners, she is able to really support businesses to grow and scale.
Lois Cameron is one of the founding directors of Talking Mats Social enterprise. She has worked with Joan, the other founding director, developing Talking Mats since 1998. By profession, Lois is a Speech and Language Therapist and worked in various roles in the NHS primarily in learning disabilities . She was heavily involved in building the research evidence base for Talking Mats and since 2011 her focus has been to ensure that as many people as possible benefit from this transformational communication framework.
Geraldine Boylan is Director, Environment at Mabbett Ltd and has over 20 years' experience in developing business opportunities through technical work in the environmental services sector.
Geraldine entered the profession as Environmental Scientist and developed her career and technical expertise to be Chartered Environmentalist and Director of the Environment Group at the independent Scottish consultancy Mabbett. Geraldine’s aim is that every client moves towards a more sustainable future, and she enjoys sharing her expertise through leading workshops, presentations and training on environmental topics, she is also engaged with the Women in STEM agenda.
Karen Licurse is the Managing Director at Digital Boost.
My roots are as a strategic marketer, and I’ll probably always think of myself as one. But I’ve been lucky enough to have a broad and varied commercial career, both client side and in consultancies large and small. I’ve worked across industries & countries, and from strategy to execution, with people and change always at the heart.
What I’m doing now
- Leading a brilliant team to grow Digital Boost, a start-up owned by a charity
- Using tech for good to help small businesses & charities learn and grow

- Learning something new every day, and helping others to learn
