Collaboration is a powerful tool that can significantly support you both personally and professionally. Join us for our July speaker event where we will be catching up with Gemma Carpenter, the Marketing and Partnership Manager at the University of Strathclyde.
In her role, Gemma supports activities for the Glasgow City Innovation District, a city-centre initiative focused on collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Her team has driven key projects like Scotland’s first Tech Week and Glasgow Tech Fest, major events in the tech, digital, and creative sectors. Gemma also plays a crucial role in the international development of the Innovation District, including hosting the International Association of Science Parks and Innovation Areas (IASP) European Division Conference.
About Our Speaker:
Gemma Carpenter is an accomplished Marketing and Partnership Manager with over 13 years of experience in marketing across the public and private sectors, including roles at Braehead Shopping Centre, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, and Glasgow and Aberdeen Airports. At the University of Strathclyde, she focuses on the Glasgow City Innovation District, fostering collaboration and innovation among businesses.
Gemma has been instrumental in developing the District’s events programme, supporting networking and peer learning. Her notable achievements include the development and delivery of Glasgow Tech Fest and securing Glasgow as the host city for the IASP European Division Conference in 2024. Additionally, she oversees marketing activities for the University’s Technology and Innovation Zone.
Passionate about marketing and supporting the business community, Gemma brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our event. Outside of work, she enjoys running, weight training, and a good hazelnut latte.
